Astrocartography: your birth chart on the world map
Astrocartography draws your birth chart onto the map of the world. For every planet it shows where on Earth it was rising, setting, highest or lowest at the moment you were born. Along these lines, tradition says, the planet works most strongly.
How astrocartography is calculated
The method was founded by the American astrologer Jim Lewis in the 1970s; today it is one of astrology's most popular uses, for travel, moving and the question of where you feel at home.
The Midheaven and Imum Coeli lines run straight from pole to pole, the ascendant and descendant lines as arcs. Where lines cross, two planets work together.
It is calculated in your browser with the planets' true positions from our ephemeris, their distance from the ecliptic included. The closer a place lies to a line, the stronger it is held to work. Nothing is sent.
