Synastry: compare two birth charts
Astrology's real partner horoscope compares not two zodiac signs but two birth charts: it lays them over each other and looks at how the Sun, the Moon, Venus, Mars and Saturn of one stand to those of the other. For that it needs the time and place of birth of both.
The calculation runs in your browser; nothing is sent. It uses the time zone and summer time of the place in earlier years. It counts the five old angles: together (up to 8°), opposite (up to 8°), a third of the circle (up to 7°), a quarter (up to 6°) and a sixth (up to 4°). The reading is tradition, not a verdict on two people.
What synastry reads
- Together: two planets at the same degree. Tradition calls this the strongest connection, in good times and hard ones.
- Friendly: a third or a sixth of the circle. What one brings comes easily to the other.
- Tense: a quarter of the circle or exactly opposite. It rubs, and a couple grows on the friction.
- The lunar nodes: two points where the Moon's path crosses the Sun's. A planet on one counts as a fated meeting.
- The Sun of the relationship: the midpoint between the two Suns. It shows what the relationship itself is about.
Without a time of birth: the Venus and Mars calculator needs only the date.
