Transits: what the sky is moving in your chart now
Transits are the angles today's moving planets make to the points of your birth chart. The fast planets colour days and weeks; the slow ones, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, shape months and whole chapters of life.
How transits are read
A transit is an angle between a planet of today and a point in your birth chart. Tradition reads the conjunction (0°) as a beginning and an amplifier, the sextile (60°) and trine (120°) as friendly help, the square (90°) and opposition (180°) as tension that pushes you to act.
The closer the angle, the clearer the effect: a transit begins as the planet approaches, is strongest on the day the angle is exact, and fades as it moves on.
The slow planets carry the most weight: Saturn takes about 29 years to go round the zodiac, Uranus 84, Neptune 165 and Pluto 248. Their transits are rare and shape a whole period.
