Four of Cups

- reflection
- weariness
- an overlooked offer
The picture
A young man sits with folded arms under a tree, looking at three cups on the grass, while a hand from a cloud offers him a fourth.
The meaning
The man looks at the three cups before him and does not see the fourth. The tradition reads the card as pensiveness, weariness and being turned in on yourself. It stands for a time when little excites you. The card is a reminder that an offer is arriving that you might overlook.
Reversed
Reversed, it is read as waking from apathy, and a new readiness to accept something.
In love
In love it is read as indifference worth talking about, or affection you are overlooking.
At work
At work it stands for routine fatigue and an opportunity worth a closer look.
As your card of the day
It may pay to look up today. Perhaps you are being offered something you would otherwise miss.
The Four of Cups stands for a thoughtful pause. Allow yourself one, but not for too long.
Cups belong to water. By tradition they stand for feelings, relationships and whatever moves us inside.
