Seven of Wands

- standing firm
- conviction
- courage
The picture
A young man on high ground fends off six staves rising towards him from below with a single staff; he is wearing two different shoes.
The meaning
The man stands above and holds his ground. The tradition reads the Seven of Wands as standing up for yourself, steadfastness and the courage to defend something. He has the higher position, even with many against him. The two odd shoes suggest he had no time to prepare.
Reversed
Reversed, it is read as exhaustion from defending, or the feeling of being overrun.
In love
In love it is read as effort for the relationship, or defending your own space.
At work
At work it stands for competitive pressure and for making a good case for your position.
As your card of the day
You can stand by your opinion today. You need not be loud, only firm.
The Seven of Wands stands for steadfastness. Choose one point today on which you will not give way.
Wands belong to fire. The tradition reads them as the cards of drive, ideas and energy.
