Sagittarius aims into the distance. Tradition describes it as optimistic, freedom-loving and curious about countries, ideas and the bigger picture. Jupiter, its planet, stands for growth and meaning. A Sagittarius says openly what it thinks, sometimes more openly than necessary, and cannot bear being hemmed in. Its task is to turn the wide view into a direction it actually takes.
In the sky there is also the constellation Sagittarius, with a map and its myth. It is not the same as the sign: the constellations now lie almost a whole sign further on.
