Six of Pentacles

Six of Pentacles: A merchant holds a pair of scales and gives coins to one of two kneeling beggars, with six pentacles floating around him.

The picture

A merchant holds a pair of scales and gives coins to one of two kneeling beggars, with six pentacles floating around him.

The meaning

The merchant holds the scales and hands out. The tradition reads the Six of Pentacles as giving and receiving, generosity and fair sharing. It stands for help that arrives, and for the fact that everyone stands on both sides at some point. The scales show that this is about balance.

Reversed

Reversed, it is read as an unequal relationship, or a gift with strings attached.

In love

In love it is read as a balance of giving and taking, without keeping score.

At work

At work it stands for fair pay, support and good cooperation.

As your card of the day

Today is a good day to share something. Time or a kind word count just as much.

The Six of Pentacles stands for give and take. Accept it today when something is offered to you.

Pentacles belong to earth. The tradition reads them as work, the body, possessions and everything we build with our hands.
