Zodiac sign on 23 November

On 23 November the Sun changes sign in some years, from Scorpio to Sagittarius. If you were born on this day, you are Scorpio or Sagittarius, depending on the year and the hour.

The Sun does not enter a new sign at the same hour every year: the calendar year is not exactly as long as the solar year, and the leap day only evens out the difference every four years. In the years below the Sun changed sign on exactly this day, at the time given in UTC (London winter time): if you were born before it, you are Scorpio; after it, Sagittarius. In the other years it was Sagittarius all day.

♏︎ Scorpio

Scorpio stands in the northern autumn, when nature there withdraws, and tradition gives it depth, passion and endurance. It wants to know what lies beneath the surface and won't be fobbed off with half measures. Its feelings are strong and seldom loud. It is thought of as loyal and unyielding, in trust as in mistrust. Its task, it is said, is transformation: letting go so that something new can come.

♐︎ Sagittarius

Sagittarius aims into the distance. Tradition describes it as optimistic, freedom-loving and curious about countries, ideas and the bigger picture. Jupiter, its planet, stands for growth and meaning. A Sagittarius says openly what it thinks, sometimes more openly than necessary, and cannot bear being hemmed in. Its task is to turn the wide view into a direction it actually takes.
