♍︎ Virgo
Virgo falls at harvest time in the Northern Hemisphere, where the tradition was born, and it is given an eye for what is useful and what is not. It is thought of as precise, helpful and practical, someone who sorts, improves and rarely makes a fuss about it. Mercury, its ruler, shows itself here as the discerning mind. Its weakness is a tendency to self-criticism, its strength practical service: with Virgo, things get finished.
♎︎ Libra
Libra begins at the September equinox, when day and night are the same length, and balance is its theme. Astrologers describe it as friendly, fair and keen to keep things even, with a sense of form and beauty. Venus, its ruler, stands here for relationships and harmony. A Libra likes to weigh things up for a long time because it wants to be fair to everyone. Its task is to come to a decision in the end.
