Tarot · The Major Arcana
The Moon

- Uncertainty
- dreams
- intuition
The picture
A moon with a face shines between two towers; below, a dog and a wolf howl, a crayfish crawls out of a pool, and a path leads into the distance.
The meaning
By moonlight things look different from how they look by day. The tradition reads the card as a time of uncertainty, dreams and hunches. It stands for feelings that rise from deep down, and for the fact that not everything is as it seems. The path is there, even if you can only half see it.
Reversed
Reversed, it is read as fog that lifts, or clarity slowly coming back.
In love
In love it is read as feelings that have no name yet, and a request not to interpret too soon.
At work
At work it stands for unclear situations in which it is better to ask than to guess.
As your card of the day
Not everything is clear-cut today. You need not settle it at once; a day of patience does no harm.
The Moon stands for dreams and hunches. Pay attention today to what comes to you at night or in passing.
The Major Arcana are the 22 trump cards, from the Fool at zero to the World at twenty-one. The tradition reads them as stations on a life's journey: large themes that touch everyone at some point.
